ABSTRACT
With the fast development of worldwide economy , people have already been
entering the great time of the global economic integration. Intensive and cruel market
competition covers all around the world. Manufacturing enterprises are facing up with
huge multi-pressure of JIT , productivity improvement , increasing quality
performance , cost reduction and quick response to the market demand. All of the
challenges urge us to be aware of the important strategic and realistic significance of
improving the whole manufacturing system’s flexibility to win the competitive priorities
and keep stable and sustainable profit development target. ‘Flexibility’ is understood as
the adapted response to the uncertainty of environment. How to improve the enterprise’s
flexibility means increasing the enterprise’s flexibility and quick response capability in
manufacturing process , optimizing the resources , increasing the elasticity of
production process, using low cost to meet customer’s quick requirement.
As far as the wiring system , which is one of the most important automotive
electrical systems , is concerned , the conventional mass production mode can not
meet the demand of modern social development and higher requirement from
customers. The flexible production mode and management method oriented to the
customer value and creating the continuous value chain , has become the
representative of advanced production mode.
This dissertation is to study the theory and experiences of flexible production mode
in wiring system manufacturer with combining the characters of lean management and
automotive wiring system. The theme is the flexible production in wiring system
manufacturer. The dissertation integrates theory and practice and applies to qualitative
and quantitative analysis to ascertain how to manage flexible production to meet
customer requirement. In Chapter 1 , it mainly describes the studying target and
significance of flexible production. Furthermore , it also depicts the major research
development and current situation in overseas and China. In order to let the reader better
understand the concept of flexible production, the author provides the description of
major production modes respectively. Chapter 2 shows the definition of ‘Flexibility’ and
provides the basic theory of flexible production management. From Chapter 3 to
Chapter 5, this dissertation depicts 3 major aspects of flexible production planning,
Process&production line optimization and flexible inventory management to ascertain
the practical application and effective evaluation of flexible production management in
wiring harness plant. Finally in Chapter 6 , it approaches the conclusion that the
positive effect and significance of flexible production management , which helps
production enterprises obtain and improve competitiveness in fast changing market
environment. It becomes the enterprise’s strong guarantee for sustainable development.
Through the research of flexible production planning , it helps automotive wire
harness manufacturer improve delivery-on-time rate, reduce special freight. Through
