摘要
2006 12 11 日,中国金融业全面开放,中国向外资银行全面开放人民
币零售业务。国有商业银行股份制改革将继续稳步推进,其它银行转型、并购、
重组、引资、联盟等战略行为日益活跃,银行业竞争格局正孕育着深刻的变化。
外资银行拥有先进的经营管理经验、优厚的人才储备以及低成本的国际融资,是
加入 WTO 后国内银行业的一支重要竞争力量。面对如此强大的同业竞争对手,
国商业银行该何去何从?我国商业银行的目前现状显然不能适应将来的竞争要求,
中国商业银行迫切需要一个适合自己、适应到时竞争环境、切实可行的竞争战略。
本文想解决的是我国商业银行在加入 WTO 后的竞争战略问题,即解决中国商
业银行在国内银行业竞争环境发生剧烈变化条件下如何进行有效竞争的问题。现
代企业间的竞争越来越体现为战略的竞争,而战略的制定必须建立在对产业市场
结构、竞争格局和趋势的准确判断基础上。因此,有必要全面、动态地跟踪研究
产业市场结构与竞争格局,为“在位”银行制定、调整和实施竞争战略提供参考。
全文共分六章,其层次结构、基本内容和主要观点如下:
第一部分(第一章):绪论。分为五节,第一节:问题的提出与意义,点明了
课题来源与研究意义。第二节:主要概念定义与研究对象。对本文研究的主要对
象进行了限定并给出了定义。第三节:研究文献综述。对国内外相关理论进行了
回顾与介绍,是本文的理论基础。第四节:行文结构与主要内容。介绍了本文的
体系框架与各章节之间的逻辑结构。第五节:研究方法与主要创新。
第二部分(第二、三章):我国银行产业市场结构的实证分析。通过运用绝对
集中度(CRn)指标和相对集中度指标——赫希曼-赫芬达尔指数(HHI试对
中国银行业的市场结构进行较为系统的计量实证分析,得出了中国商业银行业整
体上垄断程度很高,但正经历竞争程度不断增强的市场结构的转变的结论。并进
一步分析了这种市场结构的历史演进与进入、退出壁垒。这部分内容是下面几章
分析讨论的现实基础。
第三部分(第四章):我国银行产业竞争格局的实证分析。为研究我国特有市
场结构下银行行为的特点,把波特的竞争理论(五力分析模型)引入到了商业银
行领域。找出影响中国银行产业竞争强度及其利润率的几种主要力量,分析这些
作用力究竟能对中国银行产业的竞争产生何种影响,这种影响的强度又取决于哪
些因素,以及相比较而言,哪一种或哪几种作用力能对中国银行产业的竞争与
展起到关键性的影响。这是我国银行业竞争战略选择的根本依据。
第四部分(第五章):我国银行产业的竞争战略的选择。介绍了波特理论的三
种基本竞争战略,详细分析了每种竞争战略适用的对象,并对我国银行业中处于
不同市场地位的银行提出相对应的竞争战略建议,即我国国有商业银行的最优竞
争战略是以总成本领先战略为核心,同时应通过弥补自身的不足,积极追求标歧
立异的优势。中小商业银行的最优竞争战略是目标集聚战略。这是我国商业银行
提升竞争力总的指导思想。
第五部分(第六章):我国银行产业竞争战略的实施。基本战略必须通过具体
市场竞争战略加以体现,从一般性的市场竞争战略原则转化为具体可行的市场竞
争战略行动。本章具体分析了国有商业银行、中小商业银行竞争战略的实施。这
是我国商业银行提升总体竞争力的途径。

ABSTRACT
December 11, 2006, China's financial industry is fully liberalized. The RMB retail
business is fully opened to the foreign banks. Shareholding reform of state-owned
commercial banks will continue to steadily process. Other banks’ restructuring, mergers
and acquisitions, reorganization, attracting investment, alliances and other strategic
behaviors have become more and more active, Banking competition is brewing
profound changes. Foreign banks is a significant competitive force in China’s banking
sectors after China’s entry of WTO. Which have advanced management experience and
excellent reserve of talents and low-cost international financing. Faced with such a
strong competitor in the same industry, what should the Chinese commercial banks do?
Obviously the current status of China's commercial banks is hard to meet the
competitive requirements of the future. China's commercial banks urgently need a
practical competitive strategy which is suitable to themselves, adapt to the competitive
environment.
This article is to study the issue of China's commercial banks competitive strategy
after China’s entry of WTO — — the issue of how to compete effectively in the
conditions of dramatic changes having taken place in domestic banking industry’s
competitive environment. The competition among the modern enterprise is increasing
become the strategic competition. And strategy formulation must be based on accurate
judgment of the patterns and the trends of industrial competitiveness. Therefore, it is
necessary to make a comprehensive, dynamic tracking research on industry competition,
which provides a reference to the “reigning” banks’ formulating, adjusting, and
implementing competitive strategies. This article consists of six chapters. The structure,
basic content and main viewpoints are as follows:
The first part (Chapter 1): Introductions, contains five sections. Section 1: The
origin and significance of the issue. Section 2: The main definitions or key concepts and
the study objects. Section 3: Review and the introduction of relevant theories which are
the theoretical foundation of this paper. Section 4: Structure and content of the main text.
Introduced the framework and the logical structure of this paper. Section 5: Research
methods and the main innovation.
The second part (Chapter 23): An empirical analysis of China's banking industry
market structure. By application of the absolute concentration index (CRn) and the
relative concentration Hirschman-Herfindahl Index (HHI), the author of this article
made a empirical and econometric analysis on the market structure of China's bank
industry. And reached a conclusion: as a whole, China’s commercial banking industry is
highly monopolized; however, the competition degree of the market structure is
increasing. And further analysis the historical evolution and the barriers of this market.
This part provides the realistic basis for the paper.
The third part (Chapter 4): An empirical analysis of the competitive pattern of
China's banking industry. For studying the characteristics of the unique market structure
of China, Porters competition theory (5 analysis model) is introduced into the
commercial banking field. Identify the major industrial forces that impact China’s
banking industry’s competition intensity and profits, analyze what kind of impact these
forces can bring to the competitiveness of China’s banking industry, and what factors
the impact intensity depends on, and by comparison, what kind of force or what kinds of
forces can play a key influence on the competition and development of China’s banking
industry. This part is the fundamental basis of the paper.
The fourth part (Chapter 5): The choice of China's banking industry's competitive
strategy. Introduced “three basic competitive strategy” of Porter’s theory, detailed
analyzed the application of each competitive strategy, and proposal corresponding
advices according to the different positions of China’s banks in the market: the best
competitive strategy of China's state-owned commercial banks is “overall cost
leadership” to the core and at the same time, through making up for its own deficiencies
purse the advantages of the “differentiation”. The small and medium-sized commercial
banks’ competitive strategy is “focus”. This is the guiding ideology for enhancing
China’s commercial banks’ competitiveness.
The fifth part (Chapter 6): The implementation of the competitive strategy of
China's banking industry. Basic strategy must be manifested through specific market
competitive strategy, from general market competitive principles, transformed into
concrete and feasible market competitive actions. This chapter analyzed the applications
of the competitive strategy. This is the way to enhance the overall competitiveness of
China’s commercial banks.
