W: Thank you, Max. I’d love to. When are you going?
M: Next Saturday. We’re going to climb Mountain Sunrise. How about bringing some friends?
W: What a pity! I’m going to the concert with my parents on that day. I’ve already booked the
tickets.
Q: Why won’t Gina go for a hiking trip with Sam next Saturday? (B)
11. W: Could you help me choose some ties for my husband. They’re for his birthday, so I’d like to
find something really nice.
M: Are you interested in these, madam? They fit men well.
W: Oh, good. I’ll take two of them.
Q: Who might the two speakers be? (D)
12. W: Jerry, what time will you meet your classmates in the Century Park tomorrow morning?
M: At nine o’clock.
W: Oh, then when are you going to set out?
M: Two hours before we meet. It will take me some time to get there.
Q: When is Jerry leaving for the Century Park? (B)
13. W: How was your weekend, Mike?
M: Fantastic! My friend Peter had a party in his house. It was great. He passed his college
exam, so he was really happy. How about you, Jane?
W: I reviewed my lessons at home. And then I visited my uncle in the countryside.
Q: What are they talking about? (C)
14. M: Tim, Peter and I are going to pay a visit to Japan this summer holiday. Would you like to join
us?
W: Well, I’d like to if I can afford it.
Q: What does the girl mean? (D)
