ABSTRACT
In the past years, logistics has become more and more important in the society.
Logistics has close connection with economy and logistics is the factor of the economy.
Logistics is the strong power and guarantee for economy development. The city
logistics provide service for the city and city economic construction. The city logistics is
the base and lifeline for the city economic development, the media of the production
and consume and city and country side, the key factor for the society development and
living standard improving, the one yardstick for the level of modernization of a country.
Many modern metropolises, both here and abroad, are building international logistics
center. It is very import for economy development to research city logistics form the
aspect of city economics.
As the greatest economics center, Shanghai has the great advantage for developing
logistics. But, the research on the relation of Shanghai city logistics and city economics
is very little. Shanghai will be the international center of economics, financial, trade and
shipping. According to the development experience of other modern metropolises, such
as New York, London, and Tokyo and so on, Shanghai has to improve the city logistics
for the goal of modern metropolises. We can get the disparity of development degree
between Shanghai and others modern metropolises. Then, themes put forward the
suggestion and advices for improving logistics. The themes base on the theory of city
logistics and city economics and division of labour and social overhead capital to
analysis the relationship between city logistics and city economy in Shanghai. In
addition, we do a lot of research on how does logistics infrastructure promote the
economy development and what factors are the key for logistics development.
The themes get the valuable date and result through abundant theory and quantitative
analysis and international comparison. This research will be useful for the development
of logistics and economics development in Shanghai and other regions. The author hope
the thesis can provide useful suggestion for realizing the goal of modern metropolises
for Shanghai.
