Channel Detection Based Bits Loading Algorithms in VSF-OFCDM Wireless Communications
II
ABSTRACT
With the rapid growth of video、audio and data services, and with the popularity of
mobile portable devices, the 3G wireless communication system can no longer be able
to sustain the foreseeable demand in multimedia communication, although China has
not yet issued 3G service license. So China may be able to upgrade its wireless
communication infrastructures from 2G/2.5G to 4G in a jumping manner. Among
various wireless access methods in 4G wireless communication system, OFDM is the
most favorable one. Among different kinds of modulation methods in 4G wireless
communication system, MC-CDMA and OFDM-TDMA are the most possible ones.
AS a combination of multi-carrier communication and multiple accesses, an
integration of OFDM, Variable Spreading Factor and CDMA, MC-CDMA based
VSF-OFCDM is suitable for broadband multimedia communication where status of
wireless link is unstable, data rate is high and system capacity is huge. Lots of complex
techniques are involved in VSF-OFCDM, such as OFDM, CDMA, Variable Spreading
Factor, Coding, Interleaving, Adaptive Modulation, Channel Detection, Symbol
Synchronization, Adaptive Frequency Hopping, Frequency Efficiency, Resource
Allocation and Bit Loading Algorithm. Great achievements have been made both in
theory and application of OFDM. Yet most of them are confined in OFDM, with less
consideration of CDMA and Variable Spreading Factor.
The research herein is a tentative study of Bit Loading Algorithm with joint
allocation of subcarriers, Bits and Power in VSF-OFCDM wireless communication.
The main task of the research lies in how to optimize the allocation of subcarriers, bits
and power for each service in the period of transmitting symbol according to the
instant channel status and service characteristics. A simulation model of VSF-OFCDM
wireless communication system is built with modular blocks, dynamic parameters and
interactive interfaces, which simulates integrated communication services including
video, audio and data, facilitating the simulation and analysis of various status of
wireless link and combination of various services., and especially for that of the
channel detection based and object-oriented algorithm proposed herein. Since
VSF-OFCDM wireless communication system is extremely sensitive to time shift and
frequency shift, the research also stresses the analysis and design of precise channel
detection module.
The originality of the research is the thought of service-oriented subcarrier
allocation, which leads to the Bit Loading Algorithm with joint allocation of
subcarriers, Bits and Power. The algorithm is stable and performs well as tested by the
simulation results. If the achievement herein be applied in communication between
precision instruments, they would be usable in more complex situations, and reliable
communication can be guaranteed, even in some very atrocious ones. Its’ foreground
in industrial detection and quality control is remarkable.
